What Types of Evaluations Does QA Provide?
Evaluation Options
The Orbis Education e-learning quality assurance (QA) team conducts course-level evaluations throughout the course design, development, implementation, and maintenance life cycle using the QA rubric and score sheet. Evaluation options include:
- Milestone Checks. A review of new and redeveloped courses throughout the design, development, and implementation phases to help ensure Orbis quality standards are met.
- First-Run Courses. Upon request, an analysis
of student performance and feedback data is used to inform continuous improvement of first-run courses with lower-than-expected
student success rates.
- QA Comprehensive Review. This review encompasses
a thorough analysis of all courses in an established program, including all
available student performance and evaluation data. The QA report provides a partner
with feedback, recommendations, and supporting data to help them meet their course
quality goals.
- QA Sample Course Review. This review focuses on
a selection of courses in the program with the same goal of providing feedback
to the partner. The same rigor and data analysis are applied for a sample review
as a comprehensive review.
- Student Course Evaluations. The QA team collates and analyzes student course evaluation data provided by the partner. Each semester, the analysis is presented in a dashboard for the partner’s reference. Once a year, QA prepares a report for internal and external stakeholders to identify areas for improvement.
Quality Gauges. A dashboard to support the work of Orbis team members who
work directly with the partner. The e-learning QA team in collaboration with
the learning design team provides a snapshot of the health of a curriculum.
Courses reviewed are chosen by the internal partner support team based on their
significance in yielding program insights over time. For access to a Quality Gauge dashboard contact e-learning
QA.
